An initial Myotherapy session will go for 60minutes, where an assessment will be discussed and observed to begin. I will look at your posture, movement patterns, biomechanics to help locate the cause of your pain and identify muscle strength imbalances, to create your treatment plan.
I use a very firm and direct approach with a focus on trigger-points (knots) and myofascial tension release. Cupping and dry needling are often incorporated into most treatments if I see benefit to you. Some say Myotherapy is an intense treatment as we use some techniques that allow us to work deep and direct into specific muscles.
To finish your treatment we will do a brief reassessment and I’ll send you out the door with some homework – in the form of stretches & corrective exercises.
First time? You can expect your body may benefit from a follow up of the initial treatment in 5-7days, this is important to see how your body responded so we can adjust the treatment accordingly.
